Digital Collection - Dogs

One of my assignments during graduate school asked I create a Digital Collection of read-alouds of picture books covering a specific theme or topic. I chose dogs for my theme!

First I designed a slide in Canva. I chose a playful yard as a background image. Next I added three bookshelves to hold the 15 books I needed to include. Then, I added the decorations! Dogs, dog toys, and other accessories were added to the background and foreground to make this digital bookshelf more visually appealing.

Using criteria for excellent books, I was able to select 15 picture books that had to do with dogs, and include their covers on the bookshelves. I found existing read-alouds from Youtube, and was able to link them in a way that avoids advertisements, making these read-alouds kid and user friendly. I was careful to choose videos that included the words and full images the majority of the time, if not always, so that readers could follow along with the story as it was being read to them.
